At the 2019 SNEC solar conference in Shanghai, DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions announced the addition of a new brand to its flagship DuPont Tedlar and Solamet product lines: DuPont Fortasun solar silicones. Built on decades of experience from Dow Corning, the new silicone-based product line features sealants, adhesives, potting agents, encapsulants and electrically conductive adhesives.
“Fortasun increases durability, stability, productivity and overall performance of solar panels and helps lower cost per kilowatt-hour and lower long-term cost of ownership,” said Dan Barish, Global Business Manager, TCS and Solar Silicones.
The durability offered by Fortasun includes delamination and corrosion protection. This helps preserve a level of performance that matches the expectations associated with investments in solar technology. Fortasun has lasting UV stability, high thermal conductivity formulations, strong adhesive bonds that help reduce failures due to moisture and it’s electrically insulating.
DuPont Fortasun adhesives and sealants are proven to endure in the face of extreme climates, ensuring that energy needs are met in all parts of the world. It also helps reduce the risk of performance deterioration due to environmental elements.
