GE Inovateus Installs 1-MW Solar Project at Caribbean Resort and Spa

Anguilla’s prestigious 5-star CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa has just unveiled its latest impressive project, a solar field spanning four acres and containing 3,500 Canadian Solar 300-W PV panels. The field now basks under the azure Anguilla skies and can generate approximately 1.5 million kWh annually while avoiding 1.2 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions.

SPALocated adjacent to the resort’s reverse osmosis plant, the primary use of this solar array is to support the plant’s daily capacity of 1.25 million gallons of fresh water, which supplies all aspects of CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa including its hydroponic and organic farms , residential estate, irrigation systems for both landscaping and the 285-acre Greg Norman Signature Golf Course, Club House and new boutique hotel offering, the Reef by CuisinArt.

The solar project was designed and installed by GE Inovateus from South Bend, Indiana, implemented by local renewable energy experts, Switchlogix and supported by property construction managers, Universal Construction.

The solar field is the first in a series of innovative measures to be implemented at CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa. Designed to redefine energy use and conservation in the hospitality industry, while simultaneously exceeding expectations for service and luxury, this new addition reinforces CuisinArt’s dedication to providing a truly eco-friendly environment.

Anguilla’s Chief Minister, Honorable Hubert Hughes, spearheaded the visionary solar initiative, which serves not only as a commitment to safe, clean and renewable energy, but also to safeguarding Anguillan jobs for the future and the island’s tourism industry.

CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa currently employs 400 staff members dedicated to its legendary hospitality standards, plus 100 additional workers who are facilitating the construction of The Reef by CuisinArt for a total of 500 employees. The new boutique hotel product will consist of 80 rooms, bringing room inventory to a total of 180.
