HGTV Green Home Giveaway Comes To Georgia

Are you in the market for a new home? How would you like to win a fully furnished, 2,300-square-foot green home, plus $100,000 and a new 2012 GMC Terrain to go in the driveway? That is what’s up for grabs during HGTV’s Green Home Giveaway 2012.

HGTV will be accepting contest entries for the home on April 12 through June 1. Fans can submit their entries once a day on HGTV.com as well as once a day on HGTVRemodels.com. Entries are also accepted by mail. If you want to see what you are in the running to win, tune into to the Special HGTV Green Home 2012 Special on Friday, April 13 at 9 p.m. The show will take viewers on a visual tour of the home.

Designed by Kemp Hall Studio, the 2012 HGTV Green Home is a modern family farmhouse inspired by Southeastern culture and regional architecture.  Located  25 minutes south of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International airport, the home features an open floor plan with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Green design elements include solar panels and concrete countertops as well as recycled and recyclable rugs that add to a more energy efficient, cleaner and healthier living environment.

HGTV seems to like to move around the country for its annual Green Home affair. Last year, for example, it turned to Denver, Colorado to give away a home designed by Sabrina Soto.

“The 2012 HGTV Green Home highlights a new dimension of green living that we haven’t showcased with our previous homes,” Kathleen Finch, general manager, HGTV said in a statement.  “We want our viewers to discover how they can live harmoniously with nature but still have a connection to contemporary architecture and the latest in eco-friendly products and practices.”
