MiaSolé intros new flexible thin-film PV module

MiaSolé, producer of lightweight, flexible and powerful solar cells, has released its second generation FLEX Series Modules. The FLEX-02 Series module is a CIGS-based flexible thin-film PV module that provides high-power density for many types of roof applications. The panels are the highest efficiency, flexible, thin-film product on the market today, with >16% cell efficiency.

Both FLEX-02 Series modules bond to the roof surface with a simple peel-and-stick adhesive.

The FLEX-02 Series module is available in two formats. The FLEX-02W module is 39 in. x 102 in., rated at 360 watts and designed for low-slope commercial single-ply roof systems.

The FLEX-02N module is 14.6 in. x 102 in., is rated at 120 watts and designed specifically for standing-seam metal roofs.

Both FLEX-02 Series modules bond to the roof surface with a simple peel-and-stick adhesive. This adhesive approach eliminates the need for racking and reduces labor and logistics costs to provide a 20% lower BOS cost than traditional glass solar systems.

The FLEX-02 Series module is IEC 61646 & IEC 61730 and UL 1703 certified.

Founded in 2004, MiaSolé has evolved from a Silicon Valley start-up to the world leader in thin-film solar panel efficiency. In its Sunnyvale, CA facility, MiaSolé has demonstrated 16% efficiency in production and 18% efficiency in the lab.
