With more solar being installed on sheet metal roofs across industrial and agricultural buildings and in coastal areas of the United States, today Renusol America announces the upcoming debut of the Renusol MS system, the latest technology for mounting PV modules on trapezoidal sheet metal roofs. Attendees at Solar Power International will be among the first to see the system first-hand during demonstrations being held at Renusol America’s booth throughout the show.
Renusol MS is a simple, compact and cost effective pitched roof solution that was developed specifically for mounting PV modules to trapezoidal sheet metal roofs. Uniquely, the system attaches directly to the sheet metal, which eliminates the need for long rails and attachments to purlins or rafters. Made of stainless steel and aluminum for longevity, the Renusol MS system consists of a clamp base for quick installation, self-piercing and self-tapping screws with hardened tips that eliminate rooftop drilling, and pre-assembled, adjustable mid- and end-clamps for securing the PV panel. EPDM gaskets under all clamp bases and fasteners protect against leaks. The system has been third party tested for waterproof assurance.
The Renusol MS system is compatible with all widely used sheet metal roofs 26-gauge or thicker with flat trapezoidal peaks at least ¾-in. in width. The adjustable Renusol MS system fits all commonly used modules, reducing the inventory that installers need to carry. The system is also ICC and UL approved, which helps to expedite the permitting process.
“Eliminating the need for rails with this innovative clamping system means enormous savings in installation time and shipping costs for installers,” said Renusol America CEO Bart Leusink. “A complete mounting system for a 5-kW system can fit in a shoebox size package and be shipped to the jobsite overnight.”
