RGS Energy to EPC 791-kW Solar Project for Arizona Parks Department

RGS Energy, a nationwide leader of turnkey solar energy solutions for residential, commercial, and utility customers, has been selected to deploy solar power systems for the Yavapai County Facilities and Parks Department at the Yavapai County Superior Court and Detention facility in Camp Verde, Ariz.

RGS EnergyRGS Energy will design and deploy the solar power systems, which will be installed on parking canopies at the Superior Court and next to the Yavapai County Detention facility. The project will total 791 kW of solar power and is expected to generate a total of 1.2 million kilowatt hours annually. The company plans to begin construction in April of 2014 and finish in August of 2014.

“We selected RGS Energy to deploy these solar power systems in order to reduce electrical costs, leverage county land assets and improve the environment,” said Kenny VanKeuren, the director of Yavapai County’s Facilities and Parks Department.

By harnessing the power of the sun, the county expects to reduce the cost of electricity by more than $500,000 over 20 years. The system is also expected to eliminate more than 37 million pounds of utility carbon dioxide emissions or the equivalent of taking more than 3,520 gas-powered cars off the road (per EPA-based data).

“The Yavapai County project marks our second multi-site project in Arizona,” said Tim Seamans, RGS Energy’s general manager. “It also represents a strong endorsement of our comprehensive solar solutions as we look to further penetrate the state’s public and private sector.”
