SL Green Turns LEED Double Play at 360 Hamilton Avenue in White Plains

360 Hamilton Avenue - White Plains

Let’s head out of town briefly for a quick look at 360 Hamilton Avenue in White Plains. The 384,000-square-foot, 12-story tower serves as the suburban headquarters of SL Green’s Reckson division and recently earned LEED-EB Gold certification from USGBC. The -EB rating is the second for SL Green after its 100 Park Avenue headquarters in Midtown earned Silver back in 2009. It’s also just the tenth commercial office building in New York State to earn LEED-EB Gold or higher.

In connection with its LEED-EB application, 360 Hamilton Avenue increased recycling by 50 percent, reduced energy by 25 percent, and dropped water consumption by 20 percent. Last year, Reckson also earned an Energy Star label for three other Class A suburban office buildings in its Westchester portfolio: 140 Grand Street in White Plains, 500 Summit Lake Drive in Valhalla, and 3 Reckson Executive Park in Rye Brook; 360 Hamilton Avenue also earned a 2010 Energy Star label from EPA.

Reckson also recently received LEED for Commercial Interiors Gold for its office space at 360 Hamilton Avenue, where the firm is purchasing renewable energy credits for 100 percent of the building’s annual energy consumption. Its LEED-CI application included a 25-percent drop in energy consumption. Seventy-five percent of all construction debris was recycled during the build-out. CodeGreen Solutions provided LEED consulting services in connection with both applications.
