Sungrow, Greensmith Energy working on 1-MW solar + storage project in Massachusetts

Sungrow, is working with Greensmith Energy, a part of the Wärtsilä technology group, to provide an advanced energy storage system to Origis Energy USA in Sterling, Massachusetts. The project couples a 1 MW rooftop solar installation with a 1MW/2MWh energy storage system to deliver an annual base load of 1.7 MWh in dispatchable clean energy to the town’s ratepayers.

Sungrow SG60KTL solar inverter earns VDE 4120 compliance

Sungrow Power Supply Co. has received VDE 4120 compliance for its string inverter SG60KTL, becoming the first PV pure player to receive this certificate in the string inverter segment worldwide.

VDE-AR-N 4120:2015 fulfills the technical conditions necessary for the connections and operations of the Sungrow SG60KTL to the high voltage network. Sungrow has teamed up with leading global quality assurance and risk management company DNV GL on certification of the SG60KTL, one of the company’s bestselling products in Europe.

DNV GL has issued a Type Certificate for Sungrow’s PV inverter SG60KTL demonstrating compliance with the German guideline VDE-AR-N 4120 [Technische Bedingungen für den Anschluss und Betrieb von Kundenanlagen an das Hochspannungsnetz (TAB Hochspannung)].

The SG60KTL is a compact 66 kVA three-phase inverter with a maximum efficiency of 98.9% in a very compact and light weight design for easy installation.

Sungrow launches 3-MW, 1,500-volt turnkey station, inverter series at World Future Energy Summit

Sungrow, a global inverter solution supplier for renewables, launched the SG3125HV, the company’s latest 3.125 MW 1500 Vdc turnkey station, along with its string inverter series, at the World Future Energy Summit, the most visited event for renewable energy in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from January 15-18.

The SG3125HV containerized solution integrates PV inverter power conversion together with block monitoring, an auxiliary power supply, and Night Static Var Generator (SVG) functionality in a standard 10-foot container, meaning significant savings in initial investment and future operating costs. Thanks to the 3-level topology and smart cooling design, it reaches a peak efficiency of 99% and can work without derating at 50℃; in the MENA region, having sustained power yield for PV plants in the scorching heat is essential for good project economics. Developed for large-scale utility plants, the product also features a high DC/AC ratio of 1.5 and flexible 6.25MW or 12.5MW block design.

Also on show are the SG125HV, the world’s most powerful 1500 Vdc string inverter rat-ed at 125kW, and SG36KTL-M, a first choice string inverter for rooftop projects.

Sungrow’s 1,500-volt central inverter receives UL 1741-SA certification

Sungrow’s 1,500Vdc turnkey station, the SG2500U, received its UL 1741-SA certification, a stringent grid interconnection requirement which will be required for North American projects in the near future, making it the first central inverter to receive do so.

The containerized 2.5-MW SG2500U, Sungrow’s leading 1500-V central inverter product, features high efficiency, energy-saving operation, and the ability to function in extreme environmental conditions with little to no loss in efficiency, almost always hitting its mark at 98.8% efficiency regardless of humidity, temperature, and other variables. The product is also designed for simplified logistics and easy O&M. These features of SG2500U help it generate greater ROI for utility-scale PV plants.

The SG2500U will be on display at the Solar Power International show in Las Vegas at Booth #3226.

The 250KW-2/4 hours turnkey solution, released during the annual ESA show, is specifically designed for C&I projects in North America, consisting of storage inverters, batteries, and BMS & EMS software. It can be configured from 250KW to 1MW, and the battery will be supplied by the Sungrow-Samsung SDI joint venture. The system has numerous C&I applications including peak-shaving, energy-shifting, demand charge management, renewable energy integration, and micro grid capabilities.
