Solis Partners, a leading commercial solar developer and integrator, has been awarded a full-service installation contract to complete a 445.41-kW rooftop solar PV system for Glendale Warehouse, an Edison, N.J.-based spice and food distribution company.
Glendale Warehouse, which is family-owned and operated, has provided transportation and logistical services to the national and international food and spice community since 1977. Their services include trans-loading of import containers, container stuffing, long and short-term storage, weighing, sampling and repacking services. At its Edison headquarters, the company has a 228,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility with a state-of-the-art “cool room” that enables them to improve the quality and integrity of sensitive products for its clients.
Solis Partners will design, engineer and construct the 1,818-panel solar array that will generate approximately 550,000 kilowatt-hours of clean energy for the facility in the first year of operation, offsetting over 90 percent of the building’s annual electric consumption. Over the lifetime of the system, this number equates to the elimination of more than 1,900 cars from U.S. roadways.
“We are excited to work with Glendale Warehouse on this project as it will provide them greater control over their energy costs and protect them from rising rates,” said Jamie Hahn, principal of Solis. “This project will help Glendale significantly lower energy costs while reducing the operational footprint of their facility at the same time.”
