Blue Earth Inc. an alternative/renewable energy and energy efficiency services company, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, BE Solar, has begun construction work on 11 of the 27 solar PV projects covered under an engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) contract for rooftop installations on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
The initial eleven solar PV power plants are expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2014. The EPC for the eleven sites will generate approximately $2.4 million out of the approximate $6 million in total revenue expected for the BE Solar Hawaii Schools project.
“We have been working diligently submitting the necessary documentation and drawings required to obtain the building codes and permits needed to begin construction,” stated Johnny R. Thomas, CEO of Blue Earth, Inc. “Now that initial permits have been issued, we can begin construction on the first group of 11 solar sites as we continue with pre-construction activities on the balance of our Kauai and Oahu solar PV projects. It is anticipated that pre-construction activities will be completed on the balance of the Hawaii schools in the near term. In addition, the Company is continuing to move forward on the EPC contracts for the large NGP/Talesun solar PV pipeline as previously announced.”
