Hannah Solar Government Services (HSGS) was selected to build several solar PV parking canopies totaling 330 kW at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. The parking canopies will be funded via an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) with the Department of Veteran Affairs. ESPCs are designed to provide energy cost savings using many different Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) like LED lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades, and solar energy generating systems, with little or no up-front cost to the government.
The North Little Rock VA Medical Center is part of the South Central VA Health Care Network which serves over one million veterans a year in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida, and parts of Texas.
The parking canopy will provide shaded parking for nurses, doctors, patients, and workers while producing energy for the medical center. The VA is a leader among federal agencies in striving to reach federal renewable energy goals and the North Little Rock VAMC is an example of the VA’s continued commitment to renewable energy.
“We have designed and built many different parking canopy projects in the last couple of years, particularly for the VA. Our team looks forward to another successful project,” said COL (R) Dave McNeil, CEO of HSGS.
HSGS leads the way in global energy security by designing and building renewable energy and microgrid systems. Serving government, commercial, industrial, and utility clients, HSGS’s breadth of experience includes projects that span the continental United States as well as overseas.
