Can you trust an inverter datasheet? Results from independent testing show that datasheets can mislead buyers: reported efficiency may be impossible to achieve in real-world conditions, and certifications do not guarantee safe operation. With independent testing, inverter buyers and system owners can stop relying on marketing materials and use real data for product qualification instead. Solar developers, investors and asset owners need the right information to build more accurate energy yield and financial models – and avoid O&M headaches, underperformance and premature failure.
Join Tara Doyle and Devin Hawkins of PV Evolution Labs (PVEL) for an in-depth look at inverter performance based on results from independent testing in PVEL’s Product Qualification Program (PQP). Using data from the field and the lab, they will explain how an inverter’s operating parameters impact the energy yield of a solar PV system as well as the reliability of the inverter itself. The session is designed to help buyers identify red flags when evaluating inverter products and mitigate risk during procurement.
