We’re in San Francisco this week for Intersolar North America, near Sonoma Valley, one of the world’s wine meccas. So, we’d be remiss not to somehow throw a solar and wine story into the mix. Luckily, we’ve found Craig Wooster, CEO of Wooster Energy Engineering. His company is helping Stone Edge Farm Estate Vineyards & Winery develop its microgrid and energy self-sufficiency. As the farm progresses toward establishing its microgrid, a fiber-optic network monitors each electrical circuit, while electrical power is provided by a combination of photovoltaic arrays, a fuel cell, and, coming soon, a microturbine. Watch Wooster discuss the solar portion of the project above.
