We stopped by one of our favorite racking companies today at Intersolar North America to talk about one of the cooler new innovations we’ve seen at the show. Solar FlexRack, a division of Northern States Metals, was releasing its FlexRack Series B system, which makes use of an innovative two-support system. Back in 2009, Solar FlexRack changed the way people looked at solar mounting systems with its unique, pre-assembled unfolding racking design that drastically reduced labor and installation costs in the field. Now, the Series B is expanding that flexibility and utility. Rather than using the one-support system of its contemporaries, the FlexRack Series B transfers the weight and loads system through dual supports, reducing ballast block thickness and dispensing the weight through multiple contact points.
