The CSI’s monthly dinners usually draw an audience of up to 100 professionals.

CSI is dedicated to improving facility performance through the advancement of building information management and education of project teams. The organization is unique in the industry in that its members are a cross-section of specifiers, architects, engineers, contractors, building materials suppliers, owners, government representatives and related professionals.

“As professionals, CSI members seek well informed, well-spoken industry leaders such as Jerry to enlighten our chapter members on the latest advancements on building rating systems, their implementation in the building construction process, their costs and benefits to the end user/design professionals and how Green Globes compares to other building rating systems. At Chicago Chapter CSI we are excited about Jerry’s presentation and the questions he will generate.” Says Kurt Moehlmann, CSI, CDT Chicago Chapter President.

In the one hour presentation Yudelson will provide the highly educated audience with indepth details about how the 10-year-old Green Globes rating system works and how it differs in fundamentals from the green building certification of the market leader.

The presentation will focus on the Green Globes’ streamlined assessment model, in which a licensed architect or engineer visits a project site, reviews documentation with the project team face-to-face and issues a provisional project rating at the time of the meeting. In other words, for the project team there is no guessing about credit eligibility and waiting for review teams to deliver their judgments.

“The Green Globes Assessor follows up the in-person meeting and writes a 10 to 20-page report detailing the findings, which is then reviewed and approved by GBI. This delivery model results in a “time to certification” of less than 4 months, up to 75% faster than LEED’s typical review cycle, with up to 80% fewer soft costs,” says Jerry Yudelson.

###

About the Chicago Chapter CSI – chartered in 1953, is the largest of 140+ local chapters of The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), a national professional association.
