Cuomo releases his 2014 budget plan, the <em>Albany Times Union<\/em> has this advice:&nbsp;<a title=\"Times Union on Water Infrastructure\" href=\"http:\/\/www.timesunion.com\/opinion\/article\/Rex-Smith-Cleaner-river-is-investment-that-will-5154130.php\" target=\"_blank\">Invest in clean water, Governor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Riverkeeper couldn&rsquo;t agree more. The Governor&rsquo;s own environmental agency calls our failure to invest adequately in water infrastructure a&nbsp;<a title=\"DEC warns of water infrastructure crisis\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dec.ny.gov\/chemical\/48803.html\" target=\"_blank\">&ldquo;gathering storm&rdquo; and a &ldquo;crisis.&rdquo;<\/a>&nbsp;<em>The Times Union<\/em> warns that we are looking more and more like homeowners who are&nbsp;letting the roof fall in&nbsp;rather than making necessary repairs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"waterny\" src=\"http:\/\/files.cdn.ecowatch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/waterny.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"300\"><\/p>\n<p>Gov. Cuomo needs to give New York&rsquo;s communities the help they so desperately need to solve the state&rsquo;s water infrastructure crisis, when he releases his budget proposal on Tuesday. It will create jobs and it will protect the investment we&rsquo;ve all made in our communities.
