Photo courtesy of Shutterstock\"><\/p>\n<p>The world&#8217;s largest tech company has no use for shareholders who lack concern for the world around us.<\/p>\n<p>Apple CEO Tim said as much Friday in a blunt advisory to investors who question the company&#8217;s decisions to invest in <a href=\"http:\/\/ecowatch.com\/category\/renewable-business\/\" target=\"_blank\">renewable energy<\/a> and establish environmentally conscious mandates.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Get out of stock,&#8221; he said Friday in response to an anti-environment proposal from the&nbsp;National Center for Public Policy Research&nbsp;(NCPPR), a Washington D.C.-based shareholder and think tank, <a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2014\/02\/28\/apple-ceo-tim-cook-climate-change\/\" target=\"_blank\">according to <em>Mashable<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n[caption id=\"attachment_324046\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"500\"]<a href=\"http:\/\/files.cdn.ecowatch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Appleclimate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"With a history of powering its facilities with renewable energy, Apple has no problem turning away investors who are deny climate change. That seemed to further irk Cook.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We do a lot of things for reasons besides profit motive,&#8221; the CEO said. &#8220;We want to leave the world better than we found it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cook compared the company&#8217;s environmental investments to its decisions to make gadgets more accessible.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When we work on making our devices accessible by the blind, I don&#8217;t consider the bloody ROI,&#8221; he said, according to <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.macobserver.com\/tmo\/article\/tim-cook-soundly-rejects-politics-of-the-ncppr-suggests-group-sell-apples-s\" target=\"_blank\">The Mac Observer<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Apple pledged to power its <a href=\"http:\/\/ecowatch.com\/2013\/11\/04\/tech-companies-renewables-combat-data-center-energy-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\">iCloud data centers<\/a> with renewable energy instead of coal. The company added a Reno, NV data center to its list of structure that wold &nbsp;be powered with renewables.<\/p>\n<p>The company also hired <a href=\"http:\/\/ecowatch.com\/2013\/10\/18\/apples-lisa-jackson-discusses-companys-quest-for-100-percent-renewable-energy\/\" target=\"_blank\">former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson<\/a> to oversee its environmental initiatives.
