Humless adds super cool electricity management function to its energy storage system


When the grid shuts down, appliances fight for attention from the power grid. Integrating these different vendor appliances is critical for efficient use of an energy storage system. Interoperability is the ability of two or more systems to interact with each other, so the technical interfaces of each system are completely recognized by each other.

The Building Automation and Control Networks (BACNet), an industry standard data protocol, solves this problem. Developed under the auspices of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), BACnet is an American national standard, a European standard, a national standard in more than 30 countries, and an ISO global standard.

But now the BACNet protocol can be used in the ESS industry, and Humless jumped at the chance to integrate BACnet with all of its Humless Universal energy storage technology with. This standard adoption further empowers Humless Universal Energy Storage System (ESS) to prioritize and direct electricity from any source, for any use. This can include any connected power needs including solar energy storage, HVAC equipment, fire/life safety, lighting control, and other building automation systems.
