If you completed a solar project this year — the year of the coronavirus — congrats. That is no small feat. Reward yourself and all involved by submitting that project in Solar Builder’s Project of the Year Awards, where we highlight the most outstanding PV projects in the solar industry — big or small. It all starts with you telling us about them. The form is at the bottom of this page.
Past winners have included a repurposed middle school, a group of live/work homes, a foodbank and a landfill project that overcame insane odds.
How do you know if your project is worthy? Here are some questions to ask yourself:
• Was your installation innovative in some way?
• Did it help a community?
• Did overcome some unique site challenges?
• Does it just look really awesome?
If you answered yes to any of those (and it’s located in North America), you should definitely put it in the running (construction completion date must fall between Oct. 1, 2019 and Aug. 31, 2020).
Just fill out the submission form below by Aug. 31, 2020.
What happens next?
On Sept. 1, Solar Builder editors will gather the submissions, choose a field of the best nominees (categories to be determined based on the submissions), and then let our readers vote on which projects stand out the most during the month of September. Top vote-getters in the field will be named Projects of the Year, to be honored in the Fall 2020 issue of Solar Builder and on our website. All remaining nominees are then eligible to win an Editor’s Choice award.
PRO TIP: Really tell the story. Make that Description field count.
