Designed by Brooklyn-based Sears-Tambasco Architects, the 8-unit boutique Jade8 condominium development in Gowanus launched preview sales earlier this month, with a grand opening scheduled for January. Located at 186 Eighth Street between Third and Fourth Avenues, the project is being described by its marketing team as “eco-chic and modern.”
Jade8′s units range in size from two-bedroom simplexes to one-, two- and three-bedroom duplexes with balconies and private decks, in price from $725,000 to $1.15 million, and in size from 905 to 1400 square feet. Green design features include LED lighting, energy-efficient Loewen windows, sound-insulated floors, a green roof, and low-VOC paints and materials. Countertops and wall and floor insulation are recycled-content.
Though it’s unclear whether the project is seeking any formal LEED certification, its anonymous developer (operating as Trident Developers NY LLC) claims to have completed two LEED-certified developments elsewhere in Brooklyn. The project joins a number of other boutique Kings County green condo developments, many of which we’ve covered previously here at gbNYC.
