JMC Homes recently opened The Executive Series at Lakeside in Lincoln, CA, offering all new homes with solar as standard, in a partnership with PetersenDean Roofing & Solar and Canadian Solar.
The master-planned community recently held a grand re-opening releasing two new models with solar as standard. While many new home communities offer solar as an option, The Executive Series at Lakeside is one of the few communities that offer solar as a standard feature on all of its homes.
The Executive Series at Lakeside features a wide range of new homes to suit buyers’ attention for detail. Ranging from 1,915 to 3,927 square-feet and from three to six bedrooms, floor plans also include bonus rooms, three-car split and tandem garages. Other features include master retreats, tech centers, dual master bedrooms and separate living quarters.
The community has 150 homes with 1.5 kW Canadian Solar Standard on every home powered by what are considered some of the industry’s highest-efficiency solar modules backed by a 25-year linear product warranty and warranty insurance, offered by Canadian Solar.
“We are pleased to be selected by PetersenDean and JMC Homes for this exciting installation, which will directly help homeowners reduce their high electricity bills,” said Thomas Koerner, General Manager at Canadian Solar (USA) Inc. “This partnership demonstrates solar energy’s power to make our daily lives richer through renewable energy and the importance of choosing high-performance solar modules with a proven track record” added Koerner.
The homebuyers have the opportunity to upgrade to as much as 5 kW on their homes. The estimated annual energy savings for a home with a 5-kW system is about $1,700 a year or $85 a month. Tax credits totaling about $2,500 are also available for most homeowners with solar roofing.
“We are delighted to partner with JMC and Canadian Solar on this project,” said Jim Petersen, founder of PetersenDean. “We need to have a better energy policy and a cleaner and healthier way of living so being able to power your house using renewable resources like the sun is one way. Imagine cutting your energy bill in half, while taking advantage of renewable energy sources like the sun. That’s what these programs are all about.”
He added that Lincoln is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States and growing number of roofs and plenty of sunshine make the city an ideal location for solar-powered homes. “That’s why more and more residents are choosing to get solar panels for their homes. With solar as standard in these homes, the utility bills will be reduced significantly,” said Petersen.
