Origis Energy acquires Florida solar projects from Dominion Energy subsidiary

Miami-based solar and energy storage developer Origis Energy has acquired two solar projects from Birdseye Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of Dominion Energy Inc. The projects are in Florida. Once completed, they will add a combined 145 MWac of clean energy generation to the grid in the Sunshine State. 
 
“The demand for clean energy in our home state continues to expand dramatically. Customers need solar and storage solutions to meet decarbonization goals and hold the line on ratepayer costs,” said Daniel Bessa, senior director of mergers and acquisitions for Origis Energy. “Origis is pleased to work with Birdseye Renewable Energy on these solar projects.”

Bessa went on to thank Birdseye Renewable Energy president Brian Bednar and his team for their collaboration on the transaction.
