When Tim Graunke, head of project development at Solar Gain, first encountered the Roof Tech team he knew they would be the right choice for a new job he was about to start. “I was at the 2016 Intersolar North America conference in San Francisco,” he recalled. “We had a contract to install a 630kW system at WorldMark® Windsor Resort, a 10-acre vacation ownership property in Sonoma County with nine buildings. We recognized right away that Roof Tech had the best mounting solution for this important project.”

Continuous product innovation and trusted service earn high marks for Roof Tech.

When Solar Gain first began working with Roof Tech, they used the first-generation RT-E Mount AIR® for installations. Since then, Roof Tech has continued to introduce new products and today Solar Gain uses RT MINI and the new RT-APEX. “I’ve been so impressed with how committed Roof Tech is to improving their product line,” Graunke said. “They really listen to what installers want and adapt their designs to meet changing needs.” Tim also appreciates the dedicated service he gets from the Roof Tech team. “Ken Clem, our rep, takes the time to visit our job sites to help with training and he’s always available to answer questions,” he said. “You don’t often find that kind of personal attention.”

Roof Tech saves time and money while reducing waste for the installation team.

“Here at Solar Gain, we have first-hand knowledge of the challenges of PV installations,” said Graunke. “We know what it’s like to be up on the roof in the hot Arizona sun, cutting rails and positioning panels. With Roof Tech’s rail-less mounting systems, we get exactly what we need with no waste. We can count on Roof Tech for smart design and maximum efficiency.” Graunke added that his roofing contractors also love Roof Tech because all their products are designed to protect the structural integrity of the roof.

Durable quality and esthetic appeal add up to repeat business from Solar Gain.

After more than four years working with Roof Tech, Graunke has no doubts that Solar Gain will continue to use their products. “We have never encountered a single flaw,” he said. “The jobs we installed in 2017 with RT E Mount AIR® are still holding up perfectly, with no leaks and no maintenance required.” Graunke noted that Solar Gain has installed five installed projects with Roof Tech – a total of 1.15 MW – and is in the process of obtaining permits for a sixth. “We take a lot of pride in our work and in our product selection,” he added. “Roof Tech meets those standards and then some with great products, a great team, and great results.”
