Array Technologies Inc. (ATI) and turnkey solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company Rosendin Electric have joined together to bring a 24-MW DuraTrack HZ solar tracking system to Lancaster, California.
The Western Blue Sky Ranch project will see nearly 80,000 solar modules mounted on ATI’s single-axis solar tracker within the city limits of Lancaster. Construction has already begun and final connection to the grid is expected for December 2014.
“Rosendin is one of the industry’s premiere EPCs and we could not be more enthusiastic about the future of our partnership,” explained ATI Founder and CEO, Ron Corio. “With more than 500 MW of solar under development, we know that Rosendin is committed to the viability and success of solar energy for the long term.”
“We are extremely pleased to continue our working relationship with ATI on the Western Blue Sky Ranch project,” David Lincoln, Director of Solar Operations. “ATI has proven again and again to be one of the premiere tracking suppliers in the industry.”
The DuraTrack HZ was chosen for the Western Blue Sky Ranch due to its unparalleled installation rates which are second to none in the solar tracking industry. By utilizing Array Technologies’ advanced tracker design, pre-site component kitting and best practices training, Rosendin will be able to meet project deadlines with room to spare.
When complete, Western Blue Sky Ranch will generate roughly enough clean electricity with solar tracking to power approximately 45,000 average California homes.
