Solar Data Systems, Inc. has announced that its line of Solar-Log smart meters for residential solar PV plants has received UL 2735 certification. The Solar-Log smart meter product family combines the market leading Solar-Log photovoltaic monitoring technology with Aclara’s popular residential I-210+ utility meter (formerly GE). The result is a plug-and-play socket meter for maximized solar PV plant performance and revenue grade metering for incentive reporting.
This UL 2735 certification applies to the entire product line including the Solar-Log 350, 360 and 370, including those meters with the new remote disconnect feature. The product line offers solutions for real-time error detection, self-consumption monitoring, inverter direct, weather station, power management and grid feed-in control.

In addition to UL 2735, the Solar-Log smart meters are ANSI C12.20 and ANSI C12.01 certified and have been certified UL 61010-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1-12, in accordance with the strict safety requirements for electrical equipment.
“The UL 2735 certification is an excellent addition to our market leading Solar-Log monitoring solution. This relatively new and voluntary certification provides a piece of mind to solar PV plant owners by adhering to the highest safety standard in the market. It also enables the Solar-Log smart meter product family to be installed in any home in the USA and Canada. We regard this voluntary certification as an integral part of our global strategy to continuously enhance the Solar-Log technology, a major part of which includes product safety and testing,” says Anton Kaeslin, President of Solar Data Systems, Inc.
The entire product family will be on display March 9 and 10 at BuildingEnergy16 in Boston, Booth 415 and March 16 and 17 at Solar Asset Management in San Francisco.
