SPG Solar, a leading provider of single-axis solar tracker solutions, has successfully completed the on-time delivery of the SunSeeker tracker to a 50-MWdc system in Gila Bend, Ariz. Constructed by engineering, procurement and construction company Black & Veatch, it will be one of Arizona’s largest solar power installations.
“This project not only validates the incredible ease of installation and quick scalability of our SunSeeker single-axis tracker, but also highlights our on-site solution support,” said Jim Harre, SVP, Product Management and Technology. “The SPG Solar product team is establishing new standards for reliable, cost-effective, and high-performing solar-tracking solutions. We offer the total solution from a bankable product delivered on time to real-time, in-field support services and long-term performance.”
The project spans over 250 acres and will produce more kilowatt hours with the SunSeeker single-axis tracker, a technology which automatically moves the panels East to West for maximum sunlight exposure. The installation is expected to be commissioned in the spring of 2014.
