Startup with new products to clean, maintain solar PV panels closes latest investment round

Chemitek

ChemiTek has closed an investment round, led by Portugal Ventures, that will help the startup to advance with the production and consolidation of its core products for the maintenance and protection of solar panels. On the horizon is the bet on the expansion to international markets.

ChemiTek says it has developed revolutionary solutions for the removal of debris and protection against dirt from solar panels and guarantees that the application of its products will ensure the cleaning of the same for a longer time. With 70,000 solar panels to be installed every hour around the world, César Martins believes that the ChemiTek value proposition will be a great ally in ensuring the effectiveness of these energy producing surfaces, reducing the energy losses caused by dirt in the solar plant.

The three main products are:

Solar Wash Protect – concentrated product that dilutes in water to wash and protect the solar panels. It has two functions: first washing the panels helping to remove dirt easily, the second is to give a positive charge on the surface of the panel, not leaving the dirt to adhere to the panels, with this effect the panel will produce more energy for a longer time, and the time between maintenance increases, saving water and manpower.

Industrial Glass Protect – product to apply in the solar glass, this product gives a hydrophobicity to all types of dirt and decreases light reflection. Durability more than 5 years.

Surface Protect – product to apply in the solar glass industry, this product gives a hydrophobicity to all types of dirt and decreases light reflection. Durability more than 10 years.

ChemiTek was one of the startups with positive evaluation in the pre-acceleration program promoted by Startup Braga in 2018, as well as in the FUEL acceleration program promoted by INL with InvestBraga innovation hub.
