Sungevity and CleanSpark, a microgrid technology company, have partnered to include CleanSpark’s cyber-secure energy monitoring and management software with Sungevity’s commercial solar offering. The partnership will make CleanSpark’s technology available to Sungevity’s commercial customers with access to real-time system monitoring.
Sungevity is a technology-driven solar energy company focused on making it easy and affordable for homeowners and business owners in the US and Europe to benefit from solar power. Leveraging proprietary remote solar design technology, Sungevity can deliver a quote without a site visit and provide prospective customers with visibility to potential savings on their electricity bills. The company continues to grow its customer base and now services 12 U.S. states.
The partnership was piloted in California in Q4 2015, and is scheduled to fully roll out in the same region by the summer of 2016, with additional markets to follow. Sungevity has been a recognized leader in the residential solar market since 2008, and announced its entry into the commercial market in March 2015, with a focus on the underserved small-scale business sector.

“Sungevity has emerged as the industry’s leading solar platform company, recognized for its cutting-edge technology and unparalleled service to customers,” said Mike Firenze, CEO of CleanSpark. “We’re excited to include our proprietary monitoring and management technology with their offering, to provide Sungevity’s commercial customers with real-time, hands-on control of their electricity usage.”
“The CleanSpark energy management and monitoring suite is the most sophisticated we’ve seen in the commercial market,” said Dave Dunlap, Chief Development Officer of Sungevity. “Our commercial customers will now have access to millisecond interval usage and generation data, enabling them to make assessments and take immediate action to further cut their energy costs.”
GTM Research predicts that the U.S. microgrid market will increase 300% over the next five years, from $225 million in 2016 to $1 billion in 2020. This partnership will help drive microgrid adoption while capitalizing on the growth in this segment through a standardized offering, as commercial and industrial solar customers leverage CleanSpark’s and Sungevity’s technologies to lower energy costs, increase energy independence, and reduce carbon emissions.
