Unirac Inc., a Hilti Group Company and the leading provider of high quality, competitive solar PV mounting solutions in North America, has been selected by Renewable Energy Systems Canada Inc. to provide two 10-MW Ground Mount Steel (GMS) racking solutions for solar PV projects located in Ontario, Canada.
The projects will be executed in two phases, which started in the fall of 2013, with final completion in 2014. The solar projects will provide clean energy to power the equivalent of 4,000 homes annually.
“RES recognized the need to select a racking provider that understands the construction methodology necessary to accommodate the rocky Canadian soil,” said Peter Clibbon, VP of RES Canada. “Unirac provides an optimized design for ground mounts with fewer foundations, yielding the lowest total installed cost.”
Ground Mount Steel evolved from over 10 years of experience in the fixed ground mount market to meet a variety of project requirements. Powerful light gauge structural steel components yield low material costs. Extremely low total installed costs are achieved through Unirac’s innovative project construction, pre-assembled components and module pre-panelization. GMS is also backed by an industry leading warranty with more than 400 MW installed in North America.
