By transporting cooling and heating through water, active and passive York® chilled beams work together with chillers and air handlers to maximize occupant comfort while also reducing energy requirements for building heating/cooling. Shallowness allows for reduced slab-to-slab heights, and design also eliminates uncomfortable air motion from typical VAV systems. Utilization of water-side economizers reduces maintenance expense and increases opportunities for free-cooling.
