Phoenix Solar Finishes 823-kW Ground-Mount for Morgan Stanley

Phoenix Solar Inc. today announced the completion of an 823-kW peak ground-mount solar facility on six acres at Morgan Stanley’s corporate campus in Purchase, N.Y. Phoenix Solar provided all engineering services, procured a portion of the components, and managed the construction of the solar facility.

phoenixThe ground-mount solar facility is expected to generate approximately 1,000 MWh of electricity per year, offsetting approximately 5% of the total electricity used at Morgan Stanley’s building, and up to 25% during peak production. The solar project required the installation of more than 3,000 solar panels.

“The successful and on-time completion of this solar installation for Morgan Stanley, a leading global financial services firm, demonstrates our strong commitment to partner with industry leaders throughout North America to deliver cost efficient and sustainable solar energy,” said Dr. Murray Cameron, CEO and President of U.S.-based Phoenix Solar Inc., and Executive Board Member of parent company Phoenix Solar AG.

Other large solar projects completed in the U.S. by Phoenix Solar have included a 38.6-MW solar facility in Georgia and a 9.5-MW ground-mount solar park at the LEED Platinum Volkswagen auto plant in Tennessee — the largest solar facility at an auto factory in the United States. Among its other recent projects, Phoenix Solar Inc. has installed solar facilities throughout the U.S. including parking canopies, custom designed top level parking garage systems, as well as rooftop and ground mounted facilities.
