SolarEdge Second Generation Junction Boxes Obtain Global Certification

SolarEdge Technologies, a leading global provider of end-to-end solar power optimization systems and monitoring solutions, obtained certification for its second generation of smart junction box products. The certification is valid for European IEC and EN as well as North American UL standards. SolarEdge smart junction boxes represent the module-embedded version of the market-leading SolarEdge power optimizer, incorporating power optimization, safety and module-level monitoring into a junction box. The first generation was installed in more than 20 MW of PV systems.

The acquired certification allows module manufacturers to easily upgrade standard modules to smart modules; it is valid for all standard module categories and applicable worldwide. Due to its unique design and high efficiency, SolarEdge smart junction boxes have zero impact on a module’s temperature.

In addition, SolarEdge announced today that it has reached the milestone of two million power optimizers shipped worldwide. In all, the company’s power optimizers are installed in more than 45 countries.
