Breaking: NABCEP 2020 CE Conference postponed due to COVID-19 concerns

postponed event

The way this week was playing out, it felt like just a matter of time before NABCEP postponed its Continuing Education Conference (this writer had already canceled his trip), and now it’s official. Here’s the email from NABCEP explaining the tough call and what happens next:

Every year, we at NABCEP look forward to connecting with our dedicated exhibitors, sponsors, trainers, subject matter experts, solar professionals, and other stakeholders in the renewable energy industry at our Continuing Education Conference. However, in light of the growing concerns around COVID-19 and recommendations by federal and state agencies to limit large gatherings of people, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the NABCEP 2020 CE Conference that was scheduled to take place in St. Charles, MO from March 16-19, 2020.

This was a difficult decision for us to make. We worked hard over the past few weeks to understand the risks and create a safe environment for professionals to come and learn, but we feel that it is the right path to take. The NABCEP CE Conference is an extremely important event for the solar industry, and it is one of our favorite ways to connect with the people who support our mission and want to get training from industry-leading experts. We made this decision to show our commitment to the health and safety of that community, and we didn’t feel right about hosting the CE Conference at this time due to the increased threat.

We remain committed to the city of St. Charles, MO, and we are actively working with the Embassy Suites and the St. Charles Convention Center to determine the appropriate dates to reschedule the NABCEP 2020 CE Conference. We will publish the new dates of the NABCEP 2020 CE Conference as soon as they have been finalized.

For those of you who have booked rooms at the Embassy Suites in St. Charles, please call 1-800-Embassy to cancel your reservations because NABCEP is unable to do so. If you arranged accommodations at another hotel, please contact them to cancel your reservations.
