Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) Symposium

What:

The Wood Products Council’s WoodWorks program will host the first-ever US Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) Symposium February 27-28, 2013 in Seattle. CLT is now available in North America and has the potential to significantly change how wood is used across the building landscape. Attendees will be among the first to review the brand new US CLT Handbook and learn how to design and build CLT projects under the International Building Code. The CLT Symposium begins on the evening of February 27, down the street from the free Wood Solutions Fair also being hosted by WoodWorks. Both events are geared towards design and building professionals.

Attendees of the CLT Symposium may choose from Engineer or Designer/Contractor education tracks. A complete program can be downloaded from the WoodWorks website at www.woodworks.org. Presentations include (among others):

The Seattle Wood Solutions Fair includes 20 seminars and a trade exposition dedicated to the design and construction of non-residential and multi-family wood buildings and is free to design and building professionals and university students.

Education

Attendees of the CLT Symposium can earn 9.5 AIA/CES CEHs or PDH credits.

Credits:

Attendees at the Wood Solutions Fair can earn 6.0 AIA/CES or PDH credits (one per attended seminar).

These presentations are designed for engineers, architects, contractors, manufacturers, designers, and others with an interest in technical issues related to non-residential and multi-family wood buildings (including commercial, industrial, multi-story and other building types).
