Enteligent solar-powered EV charger now available to pre-order

Enteligent solar-powered EV charger

Solar power electronics innovator, Enteligent, raised $7 million in early 2023 to develop a solar-powered EV charger that could provide DC-to-DC daytime charging directly from on-site solar PV generation. That solar-powered EV charger concept, the Enteligent TLCEV T1 EVSE, is now available to pre-order.

“If you’re charging your EV at night, you’re not using clean energy. Most EV owners plug in at night when peak demand is provided by fossil fuels,” said Enteligent co-founder and CEO Sean Burke. “Enteligent’s solution offers convenient EV charging, so EV drivers can shift to daytime charging directly from solar panels and top up for free while the sun shines. The TLCEV chargers simply connect to a solar canopy anywhere and generate clean power.”

The seed funding round included investments by several strategic investors such as NOVA, the venture arm of Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s largest building materials companies, and Taronga Ventures, one of the world’s leading real asset technology investors, as well as other institutional investors.

The Enteligent team believes this is the first solar-powered EV charger to hit the market, and is available with both NACS & CCS-1 options. Powered directly from the sun, the TLCEV T1 charger easily integrates EV charging into solar canopies and carports located at residences, office parking lots, campuses, agricultural locales, and construction sites.

  • Enteligent’s TLCEV chargers can supply up to 12.5 kW of fast DC charging – two times faster than many AC Level 2 EV chargers.
  • The TLCEV T1 12.5 kW DC Charger also eliminates the DC-to-AC-to-DC conversion losses, resulting in up to 20% energy savings.

Why else its cool: Since these solar-powered EV chargers do not rely on the grid, they do not require lengthy permitting processes and avoid complicated grid integration.

Preordering with a fully refundable deposit provides you with a discount of 10% off the MSRP of $2499.00 USD.
