Exyte Energy chooses Solar FlexRack Pre-Cast mounting system for Massachusetts landfill project

Solar Flex Rack landfill solar project

Exyte Energy (formerly M+W Energy, Inc.), one of America’s largest providers of EPC and O&M services for solar photovoltaic systems, has installed Solar FlexRack’s Series B (ballasted) Pre-Cast mounting system in a landfill solar project in Shrewsbury, Mass. The dedication of local utilities, Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company and Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations, to work collaboratively with stakeholders ensured the 3.8 MW solar project was successfully completed.

Why Pre-Cast?

Landfills converted to solar generally do not allow penetration in the site’s land surface, requiring that mounting and foundation technology be flexible, reliable, and lighter to meet all site regulations. Solar FlexRack Series B Pre-Cast is designed with a front-rear post mounting technology that effectively transfers loads into the concrete block and allows for reductions in ballast thickness. Lighter ballasts and greater flexibility for array profiles onsite translates to reduced costs. Series B Pre-Cast solar mounting foundations have less components, making them faster and easier to install. It is the perfect product for landfill projects converting to solar power generation plants.

“This solar project overcame initial delays and both utilities did a commendable job supporting its success and making it a particularly significant and memorable project to be a part of,” said Nathaniel Malo, Director of Business Development, M+W Energy, Inc. “I also want to thank Solar FlexRack for working hard to meet short deadlines and doing what they always do, which is consistently deliver reliability in their products and work.”

“M+W are the leaders in the industry and their commitment to customer satisfaction is impressive. We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with a company that understands the complexities of landfill projects and has the relationships to bring in the right people to get the job done,” said Steve Daniel, Executive Vice President, Solar FlexRack.
