Mission Solar Energy LLC, a U.S. supplier of high-power solar modules, is doing something cool and collaborating with a newly married couple traveling across the U.S. in a solar-powered bus to promote sustainable living practices.

“Our goal was to turn the bus into a home that looks and feels exactly the way we want it for a reasonable and affordable cost,” said solar bus owner, Jessica. “It was also very important to us that we have the ability to go off grid and we knew incorporating a solar system would be a key component in this project,”

The solar bus features six of Mission Solar Energy’s high-efficiency PERC 60 solar panels, and those compact yet high-power output solar panels allow the couple to go off grid. The bus has the ability to generate electricity and operate on the PV solar panels and battery system alone.

“Mission Solar Energy is committed to promoting the solar industry and sustainability. We believe this partnership will allow us to do just that,” said Jae Yang, President & CEO of Mission Solar Energy.

The couple kicked-off its travels in late May and made San Antonio, Texas its first stop. The Mission Solar team was eager to meet Forrest and Jessica in person and get an up close look at the solar bus. Mission Solar Energy proudly showcased the solar bus at this year’s Solar Power Texas Conference & Expo in June.

Forrest and Jessica will be traveling through the West Coast and exhibiting at a variety of tiny home and sustainable living conventions. They will join the Mission Solar team at Solar Power International in Anaheim, CA in September. Be sure to stop by booth # 6039 to meet the couple and tour their lovely home.
