Canadian Solar will be ramping up production of TOPCon solar modules at a Texas-based factory, and Sol Systems agreed to procure a significant portion of that supply for its U.S. project pipeline between 2024 and 2025.
“We are thrilled to partner with Canadian Solar to scale the U.S. solar module manufacturing industry and create new American manufacturing jobs,” stated Dan Diamond, Chief Construction Officer of Sol Systems. “Canadian Solar’s TOPCon modules boost project economics through higher yields, smaller site footprint and lease costs, and lower balance of system costs. We were very impressed with the state-of-the-art facility during our visit to the Texas factory in December.”
Sol Systems is operating and building over 2 GW of solar projects valued at more than $2 billion for Fortune 100 companies, municipalities, counties, utilities, universities, and schools and provides environmental commodity portfolio management services to nearly 50,000 customers across the US. The company was founded in 2008, is based in Washington, D.C., and is led by its founder.
Canadian Solar’s TOPBiHiKu7 bifacial TOPCon module, being produced in the United States, gives project developers secure long-term module supply.
